Print Ready File Requirements

1. File format
: ai / pdf / eps / psd / jpg or tiff (300dpi)

2. Colour
: Colour mode must be CMYK

3. Artwork Size Set-up

4. Font outline or embedded (prefer Outlined texts)   

Since there are literally thousands of fonts available on both Mac's and PC's, it becomes a problem to be sure that everyone has access to the same fonts and can display your images properly (illustrator and photoshop documents). When design file is supplied with missing fonts, a printer cannot proceed your file for production.   To solve this issue, please convert texts to outlines or send actual font files.

[ Convert texts to outlines using Photoshop ] : Select text layer > Layer (top menu) > Rasterize > Click “Type”
[ Email font files - PC ] : Open “Control Panel” > Click “Font” folder > Copy font files used on artwork                                                  > Save the font files on the Desktop > Email the fonts.

5. Image resolution  

If you are working with website files then they require a much lower resolution than printed materials such as business card, sticker, catalog or a brochure. In general, web file resolution is 72 dpi (dots per inch).  Print work requires at least 300 dpi resolution for photo images. These files can be rather large in file size.
If you have a very small image by making it larger, you only decrease the resolution at the new image size.
